Sending Emails, or lack of...

Postby yellowplum » Fri Feb 17, 2006 8:18 am

Well I decided to setup Scalix 10 on OpenSuse 10 X64, and so far it works.

However, two main problems I have encountered, one being a IP based problem, which I am not looking to resolve just yet as we have found a way round it.

Though the second is a little confusing, we now have the Scalix Server on the inside of our firewall and running using an Internal IP. The problem arises when you try and send mail from the user account. You can't!

The only mail you can send it between the two users that have been created thus far, if you try and send messages to external mail addresses such as hotmail or gmail etc a small popup states that the server was 'unable to send mail'.

Does anyone have any idea?

Otherwise you can log into the webmail access, and admin pages fine.

Hi,

that is probably because your network is not listed in /var/opt/scalix/sys/smtd.cfg.

You will want an entry like

RELAY accept 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0

where obviously you would need to replace that with your real network.

Please see the smtpd.cfg file for further information.

Cheers,

Sascha.
