Changing default email-address which is created on user-setu

Postby dvl » Mon Jan 31, 2005 5:03 am

Hi all!

Sorry for opening a second thread, but I thought it's a different topic and it would be more clearly for the forum doing it this way.

I am using only console mode to create / modify users.
Every time I create a user, Scalix creates his email-address as "first.second@mailnode".

I know there is a possibility to change this behaviour for example into using the first letter of his first name dot lastname at mailnode (e.g. j.doe@domain.com).

Because of the fact, that I currently cannot access the docs and I don't want to read all manpages (shame on me!), could anybody please point me on the right direction?

TIA

Greetings from Switzerland

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

I looked into the manual for you, but couldn't find a for definate answer for you.. I can give you this advice tho:

When creating a user on the command line, you can specify their email address. to do this use:

Code: Select all

omaddu -n "John Doe/mail,node/IA=John Doe <emailaddressyouwant@domain.com>" -p password

I'm sorry I couldn't answer your firzt question, but I hopes this helps anyways..

Greets,

triG
