Local mail log

Postby anto_davidraj » Mon Mar 31, 2008 5:44 pm

Is that any way to enable the mail log within the domain, for example if xyz@mydomain is sending mail to zyx@mydomain, Is that possible relay those mails through sendmail, currnetly only external mails relaying through sendmail. Also if i check the header it is simply blank,

We have few peoples using single e-mail account and some one from that group send the mail to somebody. But we are unable to find out where that mail is originated from.

So we are looking for the future log.

If anyone have any idea or solution please ..................

Thanks

Antu

No you can't. However, you can enable audit logging that will trace every message flowing through Scalix. Just search here, lots of tips on that.

also, have a look in ~sys/audit.cfg to see what type of info you want to log...each service has differnt logging levels (I also find the router audit level set to include attachment types is handy).

Thanks Mike and Valerion,

I tried through audit before i start this post, even i enable the router log level 11, it won't give the IP address of the Originator. I need the IP address of the mail originator. Is that we need to enable any other service log.

Thanks

Antu

Mmm ... correct, you can't see it for a MAPI connection. The SMTP Relay's audit log will likely show it for incoming mail (even from IMAP/SWA), but I don't have it enabled on my side. For MAPI connection you will have to raise an enhancement request.
