Hi,

Since upgrading to v11.3 update 1last week random imap users are complaining that they can not access their email. In the cases below the email accounts were not locked.
On Friday a user tried Outlook and Thunderbird to access their email. When they attempted to access Webmail the login process started but never completed. Eventually they tried using a Pop3 connection and they were able to access all their email.
Today an Opera user was unable to access their email due to an incorrect username/password message. Resetting their password, allowed them access to the webmail, however using the password to try an establish an Imap connection failed with an incorrect username/password with both Opera, Outlook and Thunderbird.

imap update

The user who experienced problems with getting email using imap with either Outlook, Thunderbird or Opera switched to using the Webmail interface, started to produce GUI errors. After logging out and attempting to login again, the user received and invalid username/password error.
Resetting the users password made no change nor did restarting the imap daemon; however restarting scalix did. The user could get email using imap with their Opera client. There appears to be an imap issue with v11.3u1 which was not in v11.1

imap problem update

Hi,

The user has just got back to me and reported that he sent an email yesterday at 10:15am which had a 3.6MB Powerpoint attachment, however when he checked his Sent folder it had over 160+ copies of the email there; all but one has been deleted.

Problem resolved

After checking the fatal error log, it reported that the IMAP connection limit had been reached. Checking the general.cfg file found that IMAP limits had been changed and not reported. Corrected values so problem should be resolved.
