How to check external emails fail to deliver

Postby hydra_hk » Mon Mar 31, 2008 2:01 am

Hi,

I have set up the scalix server and everything is working. As my team requested, they would like to monitor the external emails that fail to deliver to our client accounts.

They would like to have the statistic on external emails failure due to mailbox not exists or the mailbox is over quota, etc. I wonder how can I find those statistics from the scalix log file or if they have been logged in any message queue?

Thanks,
Hydra

If the SMTP Relay does not give you the information, then the easiest may be to set up a relay server that send onwards to Scalix, or alternatively run sendmail as your primary relay (tips for that is in the forum).

But first do a omshowlog -e and check there, or set a few log_reject lines in the smtpd.cfg if it doesn't exist yet.
