SERIOUS ERROR - No such file or directory

Postby mxc » Fri Mar 28, 2008 12:54 am

Hi there,

We get this kind of message in our logs (showlog) every 30 minutes or so. We have run omscan -A -a -v -f but still this persists. We also did omoff -d0 omscan; omscan -Z;omon omscan.

Things run ok with these errors but we just want to make sure we don't have a lurking problem.

Try adding a -x to the omscan parameters. Strange that omscan doesn't fix this, though. Somewhere that file is mentioned in the mailstore in a container entry, and it doesn't exist any more. Normally the reference should be removed by an omscan. Maybe check all your queues with omqdump to see if there are any messages hanging around in the queues? It could potentially be that as well, though omscan should still correct it.

Users are also reporting that attachments are corrupted. Do you think it could be related to this issue?

if you have users complaining...make sure you have a good backup before running omscan with "-x" option......just in case!!! :-)
