sxaa rules not working

Postby orangeandwhitedesign » Thu Mar 06, 2008 1:25 am

Hi I am trying to setup push emails to a blackberry.

I have used sxaa to make the rule.

sxaa --user "CEO Account" --redirect "assistant@blackberry" --retain

but the rule won't start.

Here's how I would troubleshoot that problem.

At the command line, do
#omshowu -n "CEO Account" and see what his Internet Address is.

Assuming it's CEO.Account@mydomain.net...

At the command line, I'd
sendmail -v
ceo.account@mydomain.net
testing
.

Then I'd look in the "CEO Account" account to see if he got the message.

Then I'd look in the mail log (/var/log/maillog on RH5) and see if you see the message going out to assistant@blackberry. You should see something kind of like this:

Mar 7 13:59:24 sxlab sendmail[2088]: m27IxOiA002088: from=<CEO.Account@sxlab.mydomain.net>, size=865, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200803071859.m27IxHHU002069@sxlab.mydomain.net>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]
Mar 7 13:59:24 sxlab sendmail[2087]: m27IxNQA002087: to=<assistant@blackberry.com>, ctladdr=<CEO.Account@sxlab.mydomain.net> (500/500), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30719, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (m27IxOiA002088 Message accepted for delivery)

Another idea.

When you type
sxaa --user "CEO Account" do you see your rule?
Is it enabled?
