ClamAV Service failed...where do emails get stuck

Hi All,

I'm running 11.3.0.77 on CentOS 4. Mail did not seem to be flowing so I rebooted the server and noticed ClamAV did not start. It did start on the second reboot and now new mail is flowing but I haven't seen any of the earlier test messages I sent. Can anyone advise me on how I can retrieve any mail that might have been trapped due to the ClamAV failure?

I am running Scalix 10. I had a similar issue last week with clamav. Under SAC->Server Info->Queues I could see the messages stuck in the error queue.

"omresub -q error" released them.

I also had to update to the lastest clamav version - presumably one of the messages that was getting stuck in the error queue was also crashing clamav.

Thanks echelon - that did the trick, and clamd is able to stay up since then. I really appreciate the help.

While on the subject, is there a best practice for dealing with the files in /var/virusmails?
