Sendmail update messed up sendmail -> scalix routing?

Postby dwerthmu » Tue Dec 18, 2007 6:37 pm

Have rhel5 and scalix 11.2 installed and running.
We are in pre-migration testing now and test users can't receive email.

Granted our test environment is not perfect, the test server is setup to process the same email address as the current production address, but different IP address and IP name.

Test server doesn't have an MX record, just an A record.

mail sent to the test user email is hostname.domainname.tld, but it sendmail on the scalix test server doesn't deliver it to scalix mailbox it delivers it to the users sendmail /var/spool/mail folder and stays there.

Its is only delivered to the scalix mailbox if I create a .forward in the home directory for the users.

I had a previous test environment setup and I believe this worked before with out the .forward. Is it possible an sendmail update caused this change?

Thanks

It's not common for a sendmail update to overwrite a config file, but you should make sure you have the following entry at the bottom of your /etc/mail/sendmail.mc.

MAILER(scalix)dnl

If not add it and restart sendmail.
