Slow Personal Contacts Lookup

Postby bpasdar » Wed Oct 31, 2007 6:52 pm

Hello,

I am trying for a third time hoping that somebody will respond.

When looking up personal contact list in SWA when using e-mail (by pressing to: cc: etc.) and in scheduling by adding another person to the e-mail from my personal contact list in SWA I get unusably slow response.

Adding each attendee to a meeting may take 1-2 minutes per!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can speed this up or troubleshoot it.

Any help would be appreciated since this has been dogging me for months!!!

WOW! -- What is happening to this forum? I have posted three times and not a single response! Am I asking for the absurd?

Is there anyone that is willing to even help with starting the troubleshooting process?

Any help is appreciated since this is the third time I am posting on this issue with NO response from anyone.

Thank you,

Babak

Slowdown cause identified

Postby bpasdar » Fri Nov 09, 2007 9:57 am

Hello Scalix group. After much research I have identified the reason for slow or timed out lookups when adding recipients to email from the personal address list and scheduling from the personal address list in the calendar.

The issue was caused by the volume of addresses in my address book. I had approximately 700 under contacts in SWA and another 3 sub-folders each with a few thousand.

When I moved the sub-folder contacts to another directory things sped up significantly.

I hope this is useful information to some of you. I am a bit disappointment in the lack of response to 3 posts over the past few months regarding this issue, especially from the Scalix support team.

We are interested in rolling this solution out company-wide, but I have to give serious consideration to the support concerns.

Thanks,

Babak
