What is the use for secondary mailnode

What is the use for secondary mailnode even if it is given the same service route as the primary and all the users also exist on the primary mailnode . :lol:

Mailnodes are just a way of logically grouping users on the same machine.

The most practical application of this is when setting up permissions. You can do it by mailnode without needing to specify each individual user.

A side-benefit is, if you decide you want to add another Scalix server to your network and you want to move all the users on one mailnode to the new machine, you can do it without needing to change any addresses.

Are you talking about moving them from one Scalix mailnode on the same machine or to a physically different host? If the latter, omcpoutu is used to export, omcpinu to import.

You can rename the user to change the mailnode.

Yes, you can do that. You will need to create the old mailnode on the new system before you import the file using omaddmn.

If you're trying to move them to a new mailnode, you can use the -m NEWMAILNODENAME switch for omcpinu.
