Question about Fedora

Postby jcrowder » Tue Aug 21, 2007 6:43 pm

Will the Fedora 5 package work with Fedora 7? This would save me alot of time if some one could provide me with this info!

THANKS!

Josh

It probably would, but I would recommend against it because there might be tiny library compatibility issues that make the system less stable. We do our builds on-platform so that compatibility is maximum.

Scalix 11.2, to be released late next month, will replace support for FC5 with F7.

Installer wouldn't even start - I'm installing FC5 as we speak...

Cheers,

well, again, not recommended or supported, but you could either tweak the /etc/redhat-release file (that's what the installer uses to determine the OS version) or what you could do to override is described in http://bugzilla.scalix.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15408

Again, please don't do this for a production system - if you run into issues, there won't be any support.
