Two root level folders with same the name, can't delete.

All,

I haven't found an answer yet, but it appears that others are having similar problems. I am using Scalix CE v10.0.0.175. I created a rule to move a message to "Deleted Items". I assumed that messages that met the rule would be moved here. It didn't work, so I changed the rule to delete the message. Works.

As a result of my rule creation and editing I have two "Deleted Items" folders... the default folder that Scalix created for trash and the other that I assume was the result of my "move to folder" rule. I would like to remove the folder my rule created. I get a an error when trying to delete the folder as well as when I try to rename it. I think this has to do with the fact that the system has to root level "Deleted Items" folders.

Any fixes? I have been running Scalix CE for a year now and this is the first problem I have encountered with the system.

Hi,

what client are you trying to delete the extra folder with? Outlook? If you have tried with IMAP, please try using Outlook and vice-versa.

Cheers,

Sascha.

I have tried deleting the folder with the Scalix web client and Mozilla Thunderbird (IMAP) without any results.

SWA is an IMAP client, so please go ahead and try with Outlook.

Sascha.

I would like too, however I use Linux and do not have access to Outlook. Is there another way to correct the problem?

Was anyone at Scalix able to reproduce the problem or find a workaround that would not require Outllook to remove the folder? There has to be a way of identifying a file or what not that can be deleted to remove the folder.

Hi,

you can delete the folder using omcontain.

To use omcontain you will need a password, which is <edited to remove the password>.

Use "u" to open the user, then "l" to list the folders and "o" to open a folder - work your way thru to the folder you want to "d" delete. Alternatively, you could purchase a support incident and we go to your box and fix it remotely.

Cheers,

Sascah.

I am suffering from a very similar problem as kdavis.

* Create server side rules with sxaa
* Forgot the / at the beginning of the folder name
* Now I have 3 folders cloned with identical names ( shown with sxmboxlist )
* These folder can not be deleted by swa or evolution
* I have no easy possibilty to run outlook

Is there a chance to get the omcontain password? Perhaps via a private message?

Thanks in advance,
Christoph

I too have the same problem. I have a user that created a rule to match from address and place in a folder /XMail, then they created a rule ( listed under the first ) that if the new mail contains eBay, then place in /Inbox.

Now they have to Inbox folders. Both show new mail when it arrives. I can move the rule created Inbox folder to the trash and purge it using any imap client, but it keeps showing back up.

I am looking for the password as well. Anyone willing to send it to me ?

thanks,
Mark
