More Information:

SMTP Daemon is again "Partially Aborted":

Code: Select all

root@redthree [~/Scalix/scalix-11.0.4-GA/documentation]# omstat -a

Mime Browser Controller       Started        09:56:45
Event Server                  Started        09:56:45

I tried:

Code: Select all

root@redthree [~/Scalix/scalix-11.0.4-GA/documentation]# omon smtpd
omon : Please wait ...omon : [OM 4826] Can't abort process 15545 of

       part aborted subsystem SMTP Relay.

omon : [OM 4826] Can't abort process 15547 of
       part aborted subsystem SMTP Relay.

Now it is disabled:

Code: Select all

root@redthree [~/Scalix/scalix-11.0.4-GA/documentation]# ps -ef | egrep '15545|15555|15547'
root     17091 17008  0 10:13 pts/2    00:00:00 egrep 15545|15555|15547
root@redthree [~/Scalix/scalix-11.0.4-GA/documentation]# omstat -a

Event Server                  Started        09:56:45
root@redthree [~/Scalix/scalix-11.0.4-GA/documentation]#

Update:

When I do

service scalix stop
service exim stop
service sendmail stop
service courier-imap stop
(some of those are probably redundant, but so be it)
and then finally
service scalix start

Then I do not have SMTP Relay disabled.

Code: Select all

root@redthree [/var/log]# omstat -s

I do not know exim at all, so I may be completely wrong here.

I believe that exim has a "sendmail compatibility" mode where it can look to the system exactly like a sendmail machine, though it uses exim's own configs internally and not sendmail's.

I would suggest you uninstall exim and sendmail completely (probably by removing the RPM you installed it with), then install sendmail from your distribution install CD's (remember to include sendmail-cf). Then run omsendin and try to see if Scalix plays better with that combination.

Alright... get rid of exim. Do an "yum uninstall exim" or the equivalent you have on your system. THEN, do a "yum install sendmail sendmail-cf".

exim is not only supported, most people who use a system with it have more problems than they can help. So just get rid of exim! It places symlinks / hardlinks to imitate sendmail, thus the sendmail command is "there" when in reality it is exim. So just get rid of exim completely, then put the real sendmail on and reconfigure sendmail.

good luck
