Lost directory

Postby mito » Wed May 23, 2007 11:38 am

I have a new user that I created and I needed to import some old Outlook data into his account. To do this I connected my outlook to his account via IMAP and started moving the data across. While it was moving the data, I decided I wanted to copy the data instead of moving it, so that I would still have my source .pst intact. My thought was that I would cancel the move, move what was already moved back, and then copy it all across.

Well, I canceled the move, and then the folder disappeared in his account!?! I had created an "Imported" folder in his mailbox, and was moving his folders into there, and the entire "Imported" folder was now missing.

I connected to his account via webmail and it too was now missing there!

So, now I figured that I somehow corrupted his mailbox when I canceled the IMAP move, so I figured I'd do a omscan on him. The command I used scanned everyone, but here's what I used:

Code: Select all

omscan -Aavfx

This should have fixed his account, and it does indeed show that there are items in his inbox:

Code: Select all

USER NAME                          IN    OUT    PDG   FCAB   DLST     WB   TOTAL (KB)
<username>                     25319      1      5     33     1       1      25360

So, the data is still there, but I don't have it in the source file, or the destination. I then decided to try to recreate the Imported folder, thinking it would then apear, but it says it can't create that mailbox. When I try to create "Imported2" it creates fine. So I'm guessing that the "Imported" box is still there, which is why I can't create it. But if it's there, why can't I see it or access it?

I'm totally confused...

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this mail back?
Thanks!

Edit: This is with Scalix 11.0.4
Thanks!
