SERIOUS ERROR CDA Server problem

Hi there,

I'm running Scalix 11.0.1 on RHEL 4.0. Every 2-3 days if I run ommon, I get the following error message:

SERIOUS ERROR CDA Server (CDA Server ) Mon Feb 26 22:50:13 2007
[OM 28664] There is already a CDA server process running Pid of logging process: 2649

CDA Server


If I do omstat -s, it shows the state for the CDA server as "Aborting"

Then if I restart scalix omshut/omrc the error disappears and after 2-3 days appears again.

What could be wrong and does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I got a simular situation after upgrade to 11.0.2. The differnce is that CDA server aborts after somen minutes.

Any Idea where to research?

If you:

omoff -d 0 -w cda
omreset -o off cda
delete the lockfile found at /var/opt/scalix/??/s/sys/omcda.lock (if it exists)
omon cda

Does it start and run normally?

In my situation the suggestion also fixes the problem but I'm worried what causes the error in first place and how to prevent it permanently.

I am using 11.04 and CDA Server won't start.

I deleted the lock file, but, it still wont start back up. Says there is already a CDA process started...

Using RH4.... Please help... What does CDA Server do anyway, I can't find anything that wont work....

UPDATE: Found the correct lock file for my install in another post and now it runs: "Because the CDA server aborted, it left a lock file called /var/opt/scalix/sys/omcda.lock.

Remove this file and restart the CDA service. "
All is well now.
