RESOLVED - Unable to logon with any account except sxadmin.

Postby ridshack » Mon Feb 26, 2007 11:01 pm

Hi all,

I need some help please. I am unable to login with any user accounts except to SAC with sxadmin.

Ive tried logging into webmail and setting up Outlook.

Ive also tried changing the password and Ive tried creating an account from scratch.

We have been using this server for a month or so now on RedHat Ent 4 and Scalix version 11.0.0.653 community.

I didnt change the authentication method to LDAP or anything... Just the default.

I found a post asking to run these commands so here is the output.

/etc/init.d/scalix status
/etc/init.d/scalix-postgres status
ps -ax | grep tomcat

Hi!

A quote from Client Doployment guide, page # 14
The clients are applications that allow users to create, view and manipulate
messages, notify users when new mail arrives, access address directories, track the
progress of message delivery, configure auto actions and more. They use the IMAP, POP
and UAL (User Access Layer) protocols to connect into the Scalix server, where they
access the message store, directory and personal folders. They are handled by remote
client interfaces.

So, disabling these services shown by you as below, has stopped you from logging into
webmail.
Local Client Interface Disabling 21:26:18 0
Remote Client Interface Disabling 21:26:18 0

Please enable these services.

Thanks,
Subir

Searching for "Cannot shut down subsystem Remote Client Interface, "

Found me a post with this in it.

The quickest way to resolve this is:Code:

omreset -o off rci
omreset -o off lci
omon rci lci

Cheers

Dave

Then a quick /etc/init.d/scalix status shows the two services that where disabling are now enabled.

Code: Select all

[root@mail logs]# /etc/init.d/scalix status
