Groups not shown in SAC

Postby bowo » Tue Feb 13, 2007 2:37 am

Hello Everybody,

i have installed Scalix successfully on my CentOs Server. Everything seems to be running, except one thing.

I could not see any Groups in the admin console. If I create a new group nothing appears in the listboxes also in the member tabs of the users.

via ssh i called

Code: Select all

omshowpdl -l all
and tata... the groups are created and can be listed via the omshowpdl command.

What is the error, that the groups are not displayed in the sac. Any hints i can get this working ??

greeting bjoern

Hi!

I ran the command:

Code: Select all

omaddpdl -l "For Test/subir-rhel4,scalix/IA=fr_test@subir-rhel4.scalix.co.in" -p pass

to create a group.

I was able to create the group "For Test", the results get displayed by omshowpdl and in
SAC.

Can you reply with the results of the command:
1. omshowmn
2. omshowpdl -l all

Did you try creating a group from SAC and see if you could see the group created in
SAC?

Thanks,
Subir

as you suggest, i created with omaddpdl a new group like the following

Code: Select all

# omaddpdl -l newtest/scxmail -p pass
>The public distribution list was added successfully

# omshowpdl -l all
>ScalixUserAdmins /scxmail/CN=ScalixUserAdmins
>ScalixGroupAdmins /scxmail/CN=ScalixGroupAdmins
>ScalixUserAttributesAdmins /scxmail/CN=ScalixUserAttributesAdmins
>ScalixAdmins /scxmail/CN=ScalixAdmins
>test /scxmail/CN=test
>newtest /scxmail/CN=newtest

But after this, no group is displayed in SAC

Did you try creating a group from SAC and see if you could see the group created in
SAC?

as written in my fist post, i have created groups via SAC, but in SAC no group is listed, only on the command line via the om... commands

some other suggests what ist going wrong with this installation?

Hi!

When you choose Groups tab in SAC, in the left panel you have an option "Filter Groups
by:" next to it you have a button "Edit Filters", did you select it to specify search restrictions,
or can you change the value of drop-down next to "Type:" to "Normal Groups" or "All
Groups" to see if you get the group you created, also you can click on Refresh button at
the top right hand corner of SAC screen.

See if this helps.

Thanks,
Subir

Hi!

I would like you to turn on debug mode for res and caa and restart tomcat to see if there
is anything in the scalix-res or the scalix-caa log files while creating group from SAC.

To enable logging for caa and res, look for the log4j.properties files in
/var/opt/scalix/??/caa/config folder and similarly in /var/opt/scalix/??/res/config folder
and replace INFO with DEBUG. Restart scalix-tomcat, that would generate scalix-res.log
and scalix-caa.log files in /var/opt/scalix/??/tomcat/logs folder.

Once you restart scalix-tomcat service, try creating a group in SAC. The details would
be logged, see if you find something that stops the group to be displayed. Please let us
know the same.

Thanks,
Subir

Debug is enabled in both config files.
When I create a new group an tail the log files, i got only the following error while pressing finish button.

Code: Select all

2007-02-16 07:52:15,193 ERROR [RESServiceHandler.executeRESCommand:1991] Failed to obtain Remote Execution Service URL for server XYZ from the Event table

Hi!

What is the result for the command below, see if this matches to value for
"res.ubermanager.host" in /var/opt/scalix/??/res/config/res.properties:

Code: Select all

hostname --fqdn

Thanks,
Subir
