Users with external e-mail accounts

Postby humpty » Thu Jan 11, 2007 8:24 am

We have several people with external e-mail accounts who we would like to add to Scalix to gain local e-mail addresses. In our old system these addresses were redirected to both an external e-mail address and another internal user for logging purposes.

I can't quite see how this can be done in Scalix. I saw an earlier article which suggested:
omaddpldn -x -l 'Dist List' -n '/internet (RFC822|external.user@wherever)'
So I tried setting up a group and doing this to add the external e-mail address.
omaddpldn -x -l 'Info' -n '/internet (RFC822|my-phone-number@one2one.net)'
However sending mail to this group gave a loop in sendmail as scalix had mangled the rfc e-mail address:
Jan 11 12:04:22 linux sendmail[22643]: l0BC4Mk4022643: SYSERR(root): Too many hops 26 (25 max): from <kevin@pricetrak.com> via localhost.localdomain, to <_/internet////////RFC822/my-phone-number#a#one2one#f#net@linux.pricetrak.com>

Can anyone please point me in the right direction to get this working? It's the last thing stopping me migrating.

I've found that the alternative address format (X400?) works just fine:

omaddpdln -l Info -n ddv1=my-phone-number@one2one.net/ou1=internet -x

Now the only irritating bit is that I can't edit or even see these external addresses in the group / pdl using the Scalix Admin Console. Hopefully that will be added sometime in the future.
