Deleting entry from directory

Hi,
If I delete an entry from the SYSTEM directory with omdelent, will it also delete that user's mailbox?
I want to keep that user mailbox b/c some other users still need access to some email he has, but I don't want him to appear in the system directory nor receive new emails.

Doing a omdelent will not delete the mailbox, only a omdelu will do that.

The best way to do this is to lock the account and disable incoming email.

Then, in SAC, check "Hide from address book" for the user.

Deleting the SYSTEM address book entry may have some additional side-effects you won't like (like delegation dying on you).

Note also that the SYSTEM directory is used for message routing. If you don't have an entry in the SYSTEM directory, you will prevent mail delivery for that user.
