.. possibly bad setup for res/caa

Postby carlPjohnson » Thu Dec 28, 2006 12:31 pm

I have seen this before when I had ubermanager/res setup to use kerberos on one service but not the other, you must have both set to use kerberos OR not, most users would probably not use kerberos for caa/res unless you have the res/ubermanager users defined in your directory.

Check: /var/opt/scalix/sx/res/config/res.properties

# Enable Kerberos secure communication between Ubermanager and RES - set to true or false
# Note: Ubermanager *must* have a matching ubermanager.kerberos.mode value in its ubermanager.properties
# configuration file
res.kerberos.mode=false

to make sure it matches: /var/opt/scalix/sx/caa/scalix.res/config/ubermanager.properties

# Kerberos stuff
# Enable Kerberos secure communication between Ubermanager and RES - set to true or false
# Note: RES *must* have a matching res.kerberos.mode value in its res.properties configuration file
ubermanager.kerberos.mode=false

Can you try logging into the Admin server, then go and pull up the /var/opt/scalix/XX/tomcat/logs/catalina.out log and see if you have any related errors at the exact time? Also, I am assuming you have restarted the scalix-tomcat engine since the install, right?

and also, check your logfiles scalix-res.log and scalix-caa.log. In particular, logging about registration and/or heartbeat is relevant. Also, check your hostname settings and portnumber settings from res.properties.
