Mail in the mqueue causing extraneous DNS calls

Postby kraymer1970 » Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:03 pm

Been running Scalix 10 for almost a year without issue. However, checking our firewall logs today I noticed a number of extraneous DNS queries from our Scalix box trying to resolve names.

Upon investigation out mqueue was filled with 1000 messages over the last four days of non existent email addresses. For example if our domain is domain.com there were emails to x@domain.com, where X is not a valid host on our server.

Deleting the messages obviously stops the DNS queries. however, i would like a more permanent solution. Is there a way to drop mail that has no valid email address on the scalix box. It seems that they are continuously sending from a domain.com address to a domain.com address and it gets stuck in the mqueue to bounce.

So my question is how can i verify that I do in fact have authorization on and If I don't how do I turn it on and secondly, how can i stop the erroneous emails from cluttering my mqueue.

thx in advance
