How to add domain to Scalix 11

Postby amir » Thu Nov 02, 2006 7:33 pm

Hi

I have installed Scalix 11 beta running on FC5

My /ect/host is:

127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.180 mailhost.localdomain mailhost

Everything is all right, now I need to transfer the MX record of my domain so I edited the DNS and created an A record as "MX" and pointed that to the IP address of my scalix server then created an MX record (with priority zero) and pointed that to mx.mydomain.com

How do I configure Scalix to handle mails sent to mydomain.com and also send email from it?

I tried editing my /etc/host to

127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.180 mx.mydomain.com mx

but is giveing me some problem in webmail since webmail sometimes tries to access http://mailhost instead of http://mx.mydomain.com

Hi Amir,

you should see your domains in omshowiam -s all

After that, Scalix has no conception of domain ownership, it just knows which email addresses it has mailboxes for.

So if your users have mailboxes, it will accept the mail.

Ensure that your domain is set as RELAY in /var/opt/scalix/sys/smtpd.cfg as well.

Cheers,

Chris
