SMTP Authentication.

Hi@all.....

If i telnet to my Scalix smtp server, i can send mails FROM every Adress TO every Adress..........

So i think its the paradies for spamers =)...

can anybody explain me how i can configure that everyone hwo wants to send mails with the scalix server has to authenticate with its scalix username an password?

Are you telnetting from the same machine or a machine in the same domain as your Scalix server ?

If so, that's exactly what is configured. If you're telnetting from outside your network, you should be prevented.

Please take the time to look through the forum on this as we've discussed this quite a few times. Also, familiarise yourself with the SMTP Relay file /var/opt/scalix/sys/smtpd.cfg.

no... i can send mails from other networks too.... if i telnet from my workstation to the internet ip of the server i can send a mail over the smtp server without authentication.

i have MailWasher isntalled... does this matteR?
