New as I am to scalix I got myself confused on how to best resolve the following problem.

Our crm software contains about 5000 customers most of which have email addresses. I want my users to easily mail to these users using SWA and the outlook connector. This means that I have to give them some kind of address for them to access in both enviroments.

After searching the forums and guides it isn't clear to me, how to best do that. I read about importing them into the system directory, public folders, setting up ldap servers or type them in as internet mail users.

So the question remains to what is the preferred method. And what commands are nescecarry to do that.

thanks.

P.S. maybe I am looking in the wrong place but I can't find the documentation on public folders address books and such things or is seems sparse to me.

Bart,

iif you are using Enterprise Edition and if the CRM system has an LDAP interface, that would be the way to go.

Other than that, you can import contacts into Scalix quite easily. Have a look at the omaddent command and the admin utility directory on the distribution tar ball.

Cheers,

Sascha.

The admin_resource_kit (in your tar file) also contains a tool called import_contacts that might be of some help here; the contacts must be in LDIF or CSV format.
