The connection to the server was interrupted in outlook

Postby aquaminii » Wed Jul 12, 2006 5:15 pm

Win XP/Outlook 2003 across the wan on pop3

Users occasionally get the Send/Recieve error "The connection to the server was interrupted" It doesn't seem to stop them from getting email but it is very annoying. I have increased the server timeout in outlook to 2 minutes and it still happens.

Here is the log from outlook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you see any errors in the Scalix logs to indicate an abort of any kind ?

The Microsoft document at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514 gives you more details on what you can do to debug this.

Cheers

Have a look at the fatal file in /var/opt/scalix/logs. Do you see any serious errors associated with the pop3 server?

Thanks,
Don
