addies change when replying to existing emails

Postby lunix_aus » Thu Jun 22, 2006 3:39 am

Hi
I have had a request. Its a strange one. Little hard to explain.
This problem relates to only address's on the scalix server.
If i (user1@myscalixdomain.com.au ) sends an email to user2@myscalixdomain.com.au and cc it to user3@myscalixdomain.com.au it works fine.
The prob is when user2@myscalixdomain.com.au hits the "reply all" button. Only the original sender ( user1@myscalidomain ) gets the reply. The cc'd field is modified ( by oultook/scalix ? ) to include the servers hostname ? This is a weird one and has me stumped.

New scalix CE install. 4 weeks ago.
Suse 10.0. & scalix-core-intel-suse-10.0.1
Any ideas where to start looking ?

Let's start by looking at the message headers as displayed in Thunderbird (CTRL-U). This will give us the original addresses. Please post these here.

It shounds like you have sendmail masquerading enabled. Do a search here for masquerade and/or masquerading for details on how to disable it.

Thanks,
Rachel

Ok.
For some reason masquerading was on but set to the domain name not the hostname.domainname
I have changed it as below and all is working now.
Thank you to all for your help.
My biggest problem is that I am a sendmail noob. postfix all the way.
