Scalix 11.4.6 and ActiveSync 1.0.2 now available

Postby florian » Fri Dec 18, 2009 3:48 am

All,

both Scalix 11.4.6 and ActiveSync 1.0.2 patch releases have been posted to our download servers and are available immediately. These are the latest "quarterly" patch releases addressing a number of issues reported by commercial customers and community members. The full list of changes can be found in the Release Notes. The Scalix dev team is very happy with the overall quality and stability of it's 11.4 and AS 1.0 products now, and the patch release strategy we've chosen to go with over the last year is testament to this.

Coming in the first half of next year will be new releases bringing additional functionality, while we'll continue to maintain these stable versions. The first half of 2010 should see Scalix 11.5, including Tasks/ToDo functionality, a new filtering and paging UI as well as a notification-based push mechanism providing for faster mailbox access and Safari/Chrome support for SWA, additional platform and plugin support for the Outlook connector, many more hosting/tenancy administration features in SAC, a brand-new and significantly faster IMAP server, a redesigned archiving interface for commercial versions, improvements for backup, restore and moving users between servers, a redesigned Free/Busy service integrating support for CalDAV, Blackberry and ActiveSync clients and, not promised yet, but there is a chance, the installer finally supporting debian-based operating systems like Debian and Ubuntu.

ActiveSync will also see it's first incremental release with Scalix ActiveSync 1.1, providing for broader EAS v12.1 protocol support, plus first steps of device management and policy configuration feature sets.

And then, there'll be some more. Stay tuned.

Best wishes for the coming holiday season, hope all is well,
Florian.
