Configuring server A to be managed by the SAC of server B

Postby a.sobieray » Tue Nov 13, 2007 11:26 am

Hi,

following the Scalix Wiki -> How-Tos -> Adding A Scalix Server we like to add a second server to our scalix installation for a remote site.

We are running Scalix 11.1 with about 300 users in our head quarter and need to integrate a branch office with about 25 users at a remote site.

We use Univention-Scalix which is not prepared for multi server environments "out of the box". So there's no option configuring the server to be managed by the Scalix Admin Console of another server.

How can I reconfigure the second (new installed) Scalix-Server ?

regards,

A.Sobieray.

I am not sure how the Univention installer works, never having used it. But on a normal RH install I would install the second machine using a Custom install, then selecting everything except the "Scalix Management Services". You will get prompted for the primary server.

Make sure you have an Enterprise license, as that supports multiple servers.

Univention is debian based. There is no custom install option. So we need to reconfigure the system after the standard installation.
How can I disable Scalix Management Services, or tell the system that it will be managed by an other server ?

Sorry, can't help you. I have no idea how to do debian installs. I suggest you talk to your distribution vendor for help.
