How can I log into the postgres database???

I am having difficulty logging into the postgrest database on Scalix 11.0.2.

What I want to do is use pgadmin to look at the db but I cannot connect. I have gone through the postgresql.conf file and added the correct ip addresses so it should allow me in but it does not. I think I have the wrong database name.

I have tried every combination of username and password and database to no avail.

database name - scalix I don't know if this is correct if not please HELP

I used scalix as the password also as this is just a trial installation to get a feel for the db etc.

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.

My guess would that you aren't specifying port 5733. You'll need that.

It was absolutely the port. It took me quite a bit to figure that out. ps -ef|grep postg did it...

if I had paid attention to that initially I would have been fine.
