Debian Etch, Upgrade 10->11 fails

Postby Ludwig_BT » Mon Jul 30, 2007 5:01 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a question concerning upgrading a Scalix 10 Installation to the current 11.1 version. Running a Debian Etch standard installation box, it seems impossible to perform any update, if I keep the original filesin /var/opt/scalix during the manual installation of 11.1, it constantly crashes, while I attempt to install the main scalix-server-deb-package (this may be connected to the ldapmapper in some way). On the other hand, there is no problem in installing the 11.1 via a python-script found at http://ti.dynalias.net/rd/programming/p ... _inst.aspx, but only if there is no old scalix-content in /var/opt/. I completely purged and reinstalled the box for approximatly 7 times and had several variants tested, but none of them led to any success so far.

I'd be most grateful for any advice on how to upgrade properly without losing all personal data on Debian Etch.

Thanks in advance!
