Hi!

Sxmapi32.dll is the one for Scalix Rules Wizard, do you have any plugins that are installed,
what anti-virus software you have installed on your client machines, do these machines
have some specific common software that might be interfering in Scalix Outlook Connect
working, sometimes Desktop Search software installed as well for example Google Desktop
Search software.

Thanks,
Subir

Hi Subir,

Does Google Desktop Search create problems with Scalix Oulook Connector in general?

Hi Subir,

No plugins installed atall. No desktop search software installed.
AVG is the antivirus.
No common software that could be causing interferance.
They are standard, almost completely clean installs of XP (coming from DELL),ie all the uneeded stuff uninstalled.

Hi!

Swordfish:
We have seen plugins like Google Desktop might obstruct Outlook Connect working.

William:
What version of Outlook and Outlook Connector are you using, also the language of OS and
Outlook Version? Do you experience any kind of OL crash on exit? Also, does Scalix Rules
Wizard work in OL?

Thanks,
Subir

Outlook: 9.0.0.6604 aka 2000 (mentioned in the first post)
Connector: 10.0.0.352 (mentioned in the first post)
Server Version: 11.0.1.22
OS: XP SP2, Lang English.

Yes rules wizard works in Outlook whilst outlook is running.
Outlook crashes once the standard windows error message is clicked ok. (hence the DrWatson crashlog event)

The error seems to occur on recieving some email and on replying to some email and on reading some email.

Hi!

Try un-installing and re-installing Outlook Connect, or try to create a new and unique profile,
this should help. As far as I know Dell machines come with pre-installed Java, see if you
could uninstall it in any one of the machines and check if that helps.

I think memory address issue is something that has to do with hardware as far as I feel.

Subir

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the connector software.
I deleted and remade the profile. How would I make a 'Unique profile' exactly?
Do you have a detailed step by step process for recreating profiles and reinstalling Scalix connect that you could point me towards or divulge to me please?

Java is needed on those PCs. (The java has not been updated on those machines recently - yet the problem occurs recently) .

I am begining to strongly suspect that the issue was with the AVG antivirus updates.

Hi!

By "Unique Profile" I meant the profile name to be different, however, account name could be
same. A chapter on "Deploying Scalix Connect for Microsoft Outlook" is available in manual:

This issue persists. There are some patterens to the problem. If an email from an external source arrives, this can sometimes be the trigger for a crash.

Here is a .dmp file from when a crash occured
error dump file.dmp

Additionally the version 11 connector software does not work on any of these workstations with Outlook 2000.

Hi William!

The Outlook 2000 issue that you have mentioned at:
viewtopic.php?t=6958
bug has been logged for this:
http://bugzilla.scalix.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15240

For the error message:
sxmapi32!SyncManager__GetMAPISession, do we have any reproducible steps, so that I
could reproduce it and could file a bug for the same.

Thanks,
Subir

For the time being it seems the issue is solved by removing the AVG Outlook Plugin part of the AVG software.
