Lookup on local domain?

Hi, I've got a weird issue, which I cant work out, and I'm hoping someone here can point me in a direction to save me some time.... all through my logs, are

Apr 15 04:36:44 mail sendmail[5626]: l3EASLRY009564: to=<timw@tdl.com.au>, delay=10:08:23, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=1134093, relay=tdl.com.au., dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection timed out with tdl.com.au.

The mail seems to get delivered, so i'm not sure what the drama is....

These are not mailboxes they are aliases, but the aliases get used more than the mailboxes, as I am migrating users to firstname.secondname@domain instead of firstname@domain.

I'm thinking this is a sendmail config issue, but I dont understand it enough, and the server is live, so i need to wait for 7 more hours till i can start guessing

Any ideas?

something else to note, which could be a cause, is that i changed the ip address of the server, following the instruction on the wiki...

I added the domain to /etc/mail/local-host-names and it has solved the issue, but I never needed to do this on the previous install of scalix, and I checked the logs on that server, and the same error does not occur. Could someone smarter that me please tell me whats happening?
