Care and feeding: Scalix Connect and IMAP ...

Postby gravety » Wed Apr 04, 2007 1:13 pm

In the Spamassasin Wiki article it mentions:

Another thing worth considering is that at the moment Scalix do not recommend that users run Scalix Connect and IMAP against the same mailbox at the same time. Use your own discretion.

Does this still apply?

The article recommends running the Spam Checker script every hour. This is going to be almost impossible if the above quote is correct...

I believe the warning against concurrent use of Scalix Connect and IMAP derives from the fact that SWA (an IMAP client) used to not handle multi-client access very well. That shouldn't really be an issue any more as far as I know.

Scalix Connect and the IMAP service itself were both written with multi-access in mind.
Certainly, I would consider any issues with multi-access to be bugs, either in the clients or in the server :-)

Gren.
