How to preserve the "To" field history in Outlook?

Postby jaime.pinto » Tue Mar 27, 2007 10:04 pm

This is not so much a connector related question, but since I have been forced to re-create the scalix profile so often, I have a number of users complaining because they are "loosing" the cache/history that lets Oulook auto-complete the email TO: field after the first few letters.

Does anyone know what the name of this cache file is, and where it's kept?

Thanks
Jaime

I have located the name.nk2 file from the old Outlook profile, but now how do I migrate it to the new Scalix profile? Where exactly do I move the file?

All you have to do is copy their old *.nk2 file and rename the copy to the exact same name as their new scalix profile.

When you create a new scalix profile, you are asked for the profile name. I usually use the person's username, which for us is first initial, full last name ( eg. rChavers for me ). So, I would need to copy my old *.nk2 file as rChavers.nk2.

P.S. You *MUST* have outlook closed when you do this. If outlook is open, it will overwrite your changes when it is closed!

I hope this helps.
