Scalix Migration Tool

Postby munwin » Sun Jan 14, 2007 8:51 pm

Have been trying to migrate a mailbox (in testing) for Scalix. Version numbers as follows:
Version 11.0.0.613
Platform Version 11.0.0.613
Server Version 11.0.0.403

The 'profile' of mark.test is created already. I can log into mark.test thru webmail. None of the email in the PST is imported. Any help much appreciated. NOTE - domain name changed to protect the innocent...

OK, so I didn't have the Outlook connector installed.
I do now, and the SMT runs without error.
Only issue is I still have nothing in the Scalix mailbox for Mark test.
If I open the exmerge created PST in Outlook, I can see the data.

Next issue - If I drag messages from the .pst (or the Exchange profile mailbox) to the Scalix folder (inbox), seems OK in Outlook, but in Webmail, the messages have a 'from' as Mark Test ?!?!?

Have just tried with connector 9.4.2 (after seeing the issue in these forums) - no difference. Mail still appears with a 'from' as mark test. Again, OK in Outlook - but the webmail has the incorrect 'from'.

If we could get this functioning correctly, is there anything to stop using Outlook to connect to Exchange, as well as Scalix, and simply dragging messages (and contacts, calendar, etc) to the Scalix mailbox ? It would make migration simple (we only have ~100 mailboxes)..... After dragging the appropriate items, Contacts and Calendars both appear to work (in Webmail & Outlook). Tasks work in Outlook (not in Webmail, as there is no 'tasks' in webmail). Just the email 'from' appears to have issues...

Where did you get a copy of sxmigrate from ?

The reason I ask is that this is a separately purchasable component and support is provided by the professional services team rather than through the forums or the support mailbox.

You should direct your questions to whoever supplied you with the binary.

Cheers

We got SXMigrate from our Scalix dealer. We are evaluating Scalix for our 100 users, as an Exchange replacement. We need to be able to test migrate, then test use Scalix. Without being able to migrate users data from Exchange, ANY other mailserver is not viable. Our dealer supplied the sxmigrate tool for us to test with. I am confident we could use Scalix instead of "upgrading" to Exchange 2003, but we MUST be able to migrate the users data, and this MUST be proven to be possible/viable on an evaluation box...

Shall ask our supplier...
