How to install Scalix 11 GA on RedHat ES4 64bit ???

Postby stan0902 » Thu Dec 28, 2006 4:20 am

(sorry for my bad english)
Hi,
please help me with that question.
I want install Scalix GA 11 on RedHat ES4 64bit, but to this I need install some 32 bit libs and scripts. (e.g. cyrus-sasl-md5, libstdc++ etc.)
And this is the problem. When I try to install these packages the Packages Installer report me error that these packages has been installed. It is true but only for 64bit version, but I need now to install 32bit version.
How to do this???

Thank's.
Stan.

are you using the packages from the 32 bit media or the compat-packages or 32 packages provided on the 64 bit media? the latter should suffice and you should be able to install those.

you need to install at least glibc.i686 to start with ... and any other i386 packages that are requires for all the scalix noarch RPMS.

Does your dependency check recommend packages?

We have an instalation package of RedHat 4 ES, which contain 4 32bit and 4 64bit install CD's. I installed the OS from 64bit CD's and also when I tried to install 32bit versions of needed packages I used that 64bit CD's but I chose the packages with i386 label.
To that i686 packages I will look next week because I am now on vacation.
