To evaluate Scalix I'm trying to run a small server from my home. Because I'm on a cable modem I'll authenticate on an Exchange server at work for outgoing mail. From what I read this is possible. The Exchange server has reverse DNS set up.

When I try to install Scalix I get hung up on the network check. It says that I don't have a host name in DNS that matches an IP address. Is this saying that reverse DNS isn't set up? If so, how do I get this installed so I can configure it to use my remote Exchange server for outgoing mail?

Hi Donsell, this setup should be relatively easily doable. I'm sure we'll get you set up fairly quickly.

Your installation problem is most likely a problem with the name setup on your local machine.

Can you check that the contents of your /etc/hosts are correct? The hostname you have configured for your box should be listed in that file along with the ip address that is bound to your primary ethernet card eth0.
