Executing /etc/rc.d/init.d/scalix start ..

Starting Scalix services (mail): ERROR: Inconsistency found between version files in sys and lib
directories. This means that the patch levels of the Scalix shared
library and binary areas do not match. Scalix cannot be started until
this is resolved.

This is on a fully updated RedHat 4AS / CentOS 4.4 server, As of now we are DOWN.

Please try uninstalling the server component, answering no when prompted about removing the message store then re-installing the server component.

Did you back up /var/opt/scalix/xx/s? Have you tired uninstalling everything and re-installing RC2?

The best way to get immediate assistance is by purchasing a support incident.

Purchasing a license is not the same as purchasing support. When did you purchase the license? I really have no idea what happened. If you had a support agreement with us I would ask for ssh access and could possiblly provide more information.

I'm suggesting re-installing RC2 as that may potentially get you up and running again.

Thanks .. I think since we just purchased less that 45 days ago we have some support included .. Anyway We will give it a try first with RC2 and get back with you on the results

What directorys to confirm do you delete .. we of course want to keep the mail store.

Ok .. un-installed 11GA and rebooted computer .. then re-installed RC2 and all is fine now .. This is of course very strange .. Anyone have any ideas as to why this works even after un-installing and re-installing 11GA and it still failed with the error shown above when attempting to start SCALIX ..

This is really weird as the changes we've done from RC2 to GA are pretty minimal and none of them affects server installation.

Could you please really work with support to work this out? Obviously, we'd want you to run GA, not the RC version.

Cheers, Florian.

Florian,

We to want to run GA as well .. However I do not want to burn a support issue on what appears to be a bug.

if it is a bug, you will not burn a support issue; this would be credited back to you.

cheers,
Florian.
