PLEAD FOR HELP PEOPLE!!! NEWBEE TO MAIL SYSTEMS

Postby zipho » Thu Dec 14, 2006 8:45 am

:( Hey Community, I spent this week trying to build a Scalix mail server for our organization, with 10 users. Scalix Version 10.0.5.1 and hey it's been a mission.
Finally I got it to install, and once I restarted the server, I fail to connect to SWA as a user and admin can't logging on to the /sac interface as well...
1. It gives me the following error (Is the Scalix Web Access Configured properly?), and I have installed the system according to the guides ..

2. My second challenge is, once Scalix is up and user accounts created, users are able to send to each other emails, but WHAT DO I NEED TO ALLOW THEM TO SEND TO EXTERNAL MAIL SERVERS. I tried and Scalix, feeds me with a Unable to send message: (target email address). error. All i Need is a list of what is involved in sending email and recieving it from External Mail Servers....

I APOLOGISE FOR THIS BASIC QUESTIONS, but I am growing dray hair because of this, and I need to deliver this mail system ASAP.

THANK YOU COMMUNITY IN ADVANCE....

Hi!

I would like you te reply with the result of the command "omstat -a", further to speed up the process I request you to try to download the installation and administration guides for Scalix 10.0.1 from the website:

http://www.scalix.com/downloads/documentation.html

In these documents you would find the information related to SMTP Relay/sendmail configurations to make the mail flow possible.

In order to access SAC, try accessing the page:

Code: Select all

http://www.yourdomain.com/sac
NB: yourdomain is the FQDN you have set for your Scalix server

In the login box enter the Authorization ID value you get from the result of the command omshowu -n sxadmin, enter the password you have created for scalix administrator. Place a check in the check box next to "Not using a secure HTTPS
connection. Click to continue" and try logging in.

Thanks,
Subir
