permission denied on.. file that isn't there?

We keep seeing this error in logs/fatal:

SERIOUS ERROR Internet Mail (Incoming ) Fri Jul 7 09:20:49 2006
[SYS 13] Permission denied
File Name: /var/opt/scalix/data/0000061
Pid of logging process: 5073
Current errno value: 13

Yet, that file does not exists:

[root@mail logs]# ll /var/opt/scalix/data/0000061
ls: /var/opt/scalix/data/0000061: No such file or directory

Which, obviously, could be the actual problem. How can we track down the cause of this error and fix it?

This sounds like someone / something screwed up your /var/opt/scalix file permissions. Please ls -al and post it here.

Alternatively, search the forum for omcheck and fix the permissions.

It might also be a virus that was denied on-access.
