Rejected From mac.com

Postby alfista » Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:48 pm

Hi All,

In my testing, I'm getting rejected email messages from mac.com while using outlook express.

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'somebody@mac.com'. Subject 'another test', Account: 'mail.mydomain.com', Server: 'mail.mydomain.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Denied due to spam list', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I don't think mac.com thinks that my server is associated with mail.mydomain.com, but that's just a guess. Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix?

Strangely, I am able to send using the webmail client.

thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason,

Take a look at the message just below this one called "Internal Open Relay". What's happening is you're either a) not using AuthSMTP from Outlook Express b) not sending from your local network or c) your smtpd.cfg file has been modified such that internal people cannot send to the outside world.

So, the first question is are you connected to your local network when sending? If so, have you modified your smtpd.cfg file or renamed your Scalix server's domain after installing? If you sending from outside your local network, then you'll need to use AuthSMTP from OE.

Thanks,
Rachel

Thanks Rachel,

It was my bad. I was sure I had sent mail using OE as a test, but apparently it used another profile. I had not set AUTHSMTP in OE. I perceived that message to be coming from the domain I was sending to so I assumed it didn't like my config.

Thanks again,

Jason
