Are there any known issues with Scalix and CentOS 5.5

Postby TargetPractise » Wed Jan 12, 2011 4:23 pm

I ask this because recently we upgraded the hardware on our scalix server as it was being IO bound.

We upgraded the server hardware and also upgraded the OS from CentOS 5.3 32bit to 5.5 64bit.

Prior to the upgrade Scalix was stable, with rare if ever any problem. Now, I am daily addressing issues.

I have been in contact Dirk and Gauhar over this and have done everything they have suggested, however stability is still not acceptable and we are now down to our final few customers remaining on the service.

I ask here, as I wish to address the largest audience possible for suggestions.

Any help, thoughts, ideas would be appreciated.

I have no recurring issues that I would contribute to incompatibility. What types of problem(s) are you having?

Richard

installing on Centos 5.5 you have to downgrade some libraries or the install will fail. It fails on adding the admin user and seems not to like the IA= part of the omaddu command.

See this post: http://www.scalix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19258

Code: Select all

 yum downgrade glibc-2.5-49 glibc-common-2.5-49 nscd-2.5-49

after doing the above my install went as normal.

Cheers
