Cannot log in to SAC

[apleschu]

I just downloaded the latest, greatest community edition. Installed it on Redhat AS4 (64 bit). Everything went fine during install, there was no indication that anything was wrong, but when trying to log in to the SAC all I get is a denial.

Any hints to that?

Thanks for answering Rachel. I really tried to find the solution before I asked on the forums, but so far nothing I found has helped. (This is a pride thing LOL)

Hi Andy,

There is actually a later version of Scalix that was released on Monday. It's 10.0.1 and allows you to select the password for the sxqueryadmin account. It also fixes the problem with the /opt/scalix/global/config file not having the FQDN.

So, go ahead and download and install that version and see if it resolves the problem you're having. If not, please post your:

Thanks. I think I solved it.

Boy is this thing PICKY about all the rest of the setup like hostname, hosts file, et al....

None of the other application on this server complained that the hostname was a different name than the name in DNS and the hosts file...

BUt alas as soon as I got all that resolved it works! Thanks again for taking the time to look into that, I really appreciate it.

Now as a suggestion: Maybe it would be advantagous if before your install procedure writes all the values into config files you would show that to the user, so that corrections can be made. Maybe even WHERE you got a specific value from? I guess that way many questions could be solved much easier (at least this one would have)
