Spellcheck "Add" feature doesn't work

Postby ahathaway » Fri Mar 31, 2006 3:34 pm

I'm unable to get spellcheck in SWA to actually remember any added words. Sending a new email within the same session, spellcheck will flag the same words again. It doesn't work across sessions either, and scalix-swa_log shows no errors.

Has anyone else seen this?

Also, it would be great to have an option in spellcheck to ignore capitalized words.

What version of SWA are you using? What browser? Words are rememberd and all cap words are ignored on Scalix 10 using Firefox 1.0.7.

Don,

Sorry, I should have added that. SWA version is 10.0.0.343, and Firefox is 1.5.0.1.

And you're quite right, it appears to be a Firefox issue on Windows only (could not replicate in 1.5.0.1 on Mac OS X, although Mac OS X version does not ignore capitalized words). I'll try with FF in safe mode to rule out extensions.

Just to be sure we're doing the same thing... I was just hittng the check spelling button. Is that what you are doing or do you have your swa configured to check spelling on send?

Thanks,
Don

I'm checking on sending. And with FF started in safe mode, I found that it was not ignoring capitalized words. Also, I made up a word and added it to the custom dictionary. I started a new email and included that word, and the spell check flagged it again (although it remembered a capitalized word). On the third email with that word, it didn't flag it. Very very odd.
