I am using thunderbird with an imap connection. I get the following error while trying to view my inbox, but sub folders within the inbox work fine.

The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: some of the requested messages no longer exist

There are a couple of possible reasons for this message.

One possibility is that something deleted some messages while Thunderbird was trying to read them. You need to be running two clients to do this and it's not all that easy to get the problem by accident.

The other possibility is that something is amiss and a message couldn't be rendered. If the message is reproducible, and you imply that it is, then check the logs to see if any errors were reported.
