Epiphany support for SWA

Postby Peter » Tue Mar 14, 2006 3:33 pm

My main browser at both work and home is epiphany, and I was unpleasantly surprised to find that I was unable to access scalix' webmail with epiphany after we upgraded to v10 at work.

Is there any particular reason epiphany isn't supported? It uses gecko for rendering, just like mozilla, firefox, etc., so I can't imagine it would have any more problems than those browsers do.

Thanks in advance.

I totally second that request. I am having that problem on a daily basis. Epiphany is still the GNOME default browser so a good bunch of people are using it, and the rendering engine is *excatly* the same as firefox.

From the release notes:

The following platforms, email clients, and browsers have been tested and are fully supported with Scalix 10.0:

Scalix Web Access & Scalix Admin Console (browsers): Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 and 6 SP1 on Windows; Firefox 1.x and Mozilla 1.7.x on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux

I understand what you're saying about the underlying internals of Epiphany and that it worked on the previous version. All I can say at this point is that Epiphany was not tested. I will enter an enhancement request to test Epiphany so that we may list it as a supported browser.

Regards,
Don
