Accessing other user's calendar takes far too long

Postby Uluquai » Sun Jan 10, 2010 1:25 pm

Hi,

Please someone help me out of this.. employes are bombarding me with issues..

Many of them need to access the boss' and other's calendars within their Outlook profile (delegates).
Of course Smart Cache doesn't work on other user's mailboxes.
So when they open another user's calendar the first time in a session it takes very VERY long to open, (Calendar's have between 1000 and 5000 entries)

Is there any way to speed that up? Currently this is nearly unusable with our setup :(
Previously we used hosted Exchange where this was NO problem at all.

I don't understand why scalix connector loads ALL the calendar data at once.. it's not neccessary to load entries all way back to 2007.

Of course they could delete or archive old entries but they'd like to be able to lookup them when they need something.. it's just not convenient.

Is it possible to tell Outlook/Scalix to only load X entries when accessing a foreign mailbox? And load others on demand?
Or is there any other way making another user's mailbox available offline?

A second question: currently many are using the same profile. This will change but it takes some time to reorganize everything.
Will I run into big problems when -let's say- 6 Outlook Clients access the same Account the same time?

Thanks a lot for any help!! GREATLY appreciated as I'm really desperate.
Currently they aren't happy at all with me, because I was the one who brought them to Scalix.

P.S.: as you might have guessed scalix is not in our lan.. it's hosted on a very powerful machine 100mbit/s.
There are approximately 10 users accessing the server concurrently.
This was no problem with hosted exchange...
