Allowing mail relaying from another server

Postby elliot01 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 7:33 am

Hi All,

Still in the process of installing/configuring our first Scalix mail platform.

We have a business server on my network (same 10.11.254.0 subnet as the Scalix server) which I need to allow mail relaying from.

I have looked around but am still unsure exactly what I need to do to achieve this.

Do I edit '/var/opt/scalix/*/s/sys/smtpd.cfg', or '/etc/mail/access'? Or both?
I am intending to just add my business server IP (10.11.254.8 ) to the list of allowed relays.

Will I need to restart the sendmail and/or Scalix services?

Am I barking up the right tree?!

What's a surefire way of testing if my server is relaying or not? I have tried guides, such as http://www.auditmypc.com/freescan/readingroom/relay.asp but I either get "550 Denied due to spam list" or command prompt simply stop responding.

Thanks in advance.

Please refer following link:

you can add an entry to smtpd.cfg file
