[Solved] Problems with omldapsync after 11.4.2 update

Postby nlindq » Wed Oct 29, 2008 4:15 pm

Yesterday I applied the 11.4.2. update to our Scalix server, and now I'm running into an issue with omldapsync, in that it's not actually importing any changes from OpenLDAP into Scalix.

I tried testing the configuration with "omldapsync -i [syncname]" and here's the error I'm receiving:

Code: Select all

I'd recommend contacting support.

I am COMPLETELY speaking out of turn here, but I think I've seen some discussion about ldapsync with 11.4.2.

Support will know for sure, and if there is a problem, Support will get the fix to you faster than anything else.

Again, I'm not certain that there is a problem, but I think there might be. I'll pay more attention going forward, and if I see something, I'll check back here.

Hopefully Dug/Leslie/Florian can comment, as they'll know better than I.

Kev.

The following part of the Release Notes (http://downloads.scalix.com/.community/ ... NOTES.html) seems to match your problem:

If you are upgrading to Scalix 11.4.2, using RHEL 4 or CentOS 4 as operating system and using omldapsync you will need to install Sun's JDK 1.6 due to a build system incompatibility (Bug 18342). To install and activate version 1.6 of the JDK follow these steps:

* Download and install jdk-6u7-linux-i586-rpm.bin from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
* Locate the line containing JAVA_HOME in sync.cfg, and adjust it to: JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_07

Well, that'll teach me to read the Release Notes all the way to the end. :-)

That did indeed fix the issue.

A brief additional note: since the other Scalix components still require JRE 1.5, it's necessary to install the 1.6 JRE RPM with "rpm -i [package] --force" so that both JREs are present simultaneously.
